Health in all Policies
To promote equal health opportunities, it is not enough to simply improve the healthcare system. Living conditions are decisive for whether people are ill or healthy, which is why health must be considered in all social and political areas - from housing to education and the labour market to urban development. This principle is referred to as "Health in All Policies". It means that the impact on health and its social determinants must be considered and taken into account in all political decisions.
In concrete terms, this calls for a political strategy that integrates health into all policy areas. The sustainable improvement of the health and well-being of all people can only be achieved if different agencies and stakeholders work together in an interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral manner. This can result in projects that improve health-related living conditions, reduce social inequalities and create health-promoting structures.
