Review: General Meeting in Dresden

22. May 2024 | Neuigkeit

The Poliklinik Syndikat e. V. held a major general meeting in April. It is clear that the Syndikat is growing! Just under 100 people travelled from various cities across Germany to network, exchange ideas and work together on solutions to pressing health policy issues.

A key part of the meeting was the workshops and discussion sessions offered on various topics. The range of topics covered was wide, spanning everything from the role of health navigators to the importance of plain language in the healthcare system. In particular, discussions focused on the challenge of successfully establishing and running polyclinics in rural areas. Participants took the opportunity to expand their knowledge, gain new perspectives and work together to develop solutions.

A highlight of the meeting was the official admission of Göttingen as a full member of the Poliklinik Syndikat e. V. This expansion of the membership base underlines the Syndicate’s steady growth and increasing relevance. In addition, three further cities – Tübingen, Munich and Marburg – were admitted to the Syndicate as probationary members.

Marburg, which has been active as a group since summer 2022, already has 14 active members. The group is working diligently to develop a psychosocial support service in collaboration with a social services provider and aims to create its first paid position as well as recruit new members.

Munich, which has been active as a group since winter 2022, has 19 active members. The group is currently focusing on organising workshops on topics such as gender-sensitive medicine, breast self-examination and emotional first aid. The long-term funding of the association and the planning of future events are the focus of its current work.

Tübingen, active as a group since spring 2021, has 15 active members. In collaboration with the Public Health Department, the group is planning to set up a health consultation service specialising in paediatric nursing and childcare. It also cooperates with the NaSe Tübingen-Südstadt community centre to provide premises for activities and meetings. The group is working intensively to identify funding opportunities and recruit new members, particularly from the medical sector.

As always, the general meeting in Dresden was an important event for Poliklinik Syndikat e. V. Not only were the workshops and discussions on the subject matter enriching, but so too were the opportunity to come together, network and exchange ideas, providing fresh impetus for the coming months.
